Some of you may remember that I recently reported my computer went into the Mac hospital for some surgery. It came home in some pain, but still hanging onto life. Sadly, it seems that it has now slipped into a semi-comatose state with no hope of recovery. Given the DNR order recommended by the surgeon in question, I have little choice but to consider it as passed on. I might even pull the plug later today.
Fortunately, I do still have access to Mom’s laptop, so I don’t need to be completely silent. And I have another chance to practice the discipline of downtime which I wrote about in December.
Unfortunately, this may also have an effect on Marvellous Adventure. While I’m hoping and praying that I’ll have saved up enough money to buy a new computer before the end of March, it’s just possible that it may take longer. For now, Marvellous Adventure is delayed. But never cancelled outright. I intend to keep my writing on schedule, and a delay would only mean I get an installment ahead in my stories. Which wouldn’t be a tragedy, all things considered.
And like I said, I’m not going to be completely silent. I have reviews and posts I want to write within the next little while, and I want to keep up with The Spirit’s Breath. And of course, the minute there’s any word on when Marvellous Adventure will have it’s debut…you’ll hear it here first.
This may be an opportunity to do some free style writing by hand. It is amazing how the creativity can be unleashed by simply writing with pen and paper for awhile. To be entered into the new computer ,and edited, when it arrives. Good luck on saving up. RIP Steven’s computer (but not his muse!)
Yep, I do a lot of my writing by hand, actually. Moleskine notebooks are my favourite, and I’m glad I bought a couple not too long ago. All stocked up. 🙂
